A message from the CEO...

Dear Friends & Supporters of the Alfond Youth Center

Please enjoy the array of exciting programs offered by the Boys & Girls Club and YMCA at the Alfond Youth Center. This season will be our 10th year since the opening of the Alfond Youth Center. We have much to be proud of as we continue to serve youth and families throughout Central Maine. Thanks to the generosity of our many supporters, we provided over $93,000 in scholarships this past summer for children to attend camp.

Our free licensed child care program has once again met an essential need for many families in the Waterville area since the ‘Boys Club’ on Temple Street opened it’s doors on December 12, 1924. Our mission to serve our children who need us most will continue to be in the forefront, especially now that the high costs of utilities will financially challenge many families to make ends meet. Our free licensed childcare program remains one of the best values available and is our way of giving back to our community by providing quality, effective and fun childcare for families.

The Board of Directors and supporters of the Alfond Youth Center are committed to do what it takes to continue these much needed services. As you know, together we can change lives. Our national programs are available in the areas of education, the environment, health, the Arts, careers, alcohol/drug and pregnancy prevention, gang prevention, leadership development and athletics.
